Community Development and Involvement Policy
The Community Development and Involvement Policy sets the basis to support local communities, collaborate with them and promote their environmental, economic, and social progress.
At ACP Renewables, we acknowledge that our day-to-day activities have impacts on nearby communities. Our assets sometimes occupy large areas of land, we generate waste, we foster communities’ economic prosperity through local purchasing, the hiring of local employees, etc. It is key for us to be a proactive and valued member of our communities.
As part of our culture at ACP Renewables, we are committed to supporting the long-term development of the communities we operate in. We particularly seek to:
- Comply with all mandatory legal, regulatory, or contractual obligations to the communities.
- Have our local senior executives be responsible for leading and/or supervising community relations and implementing reasonable consultation guidelines (including consultation conducted at early stages of the project if we control the project) to identify local stakeholders or community interests. We commit to consulting with local communities to understand the expectations of our stakeholders, to analyzing initiatives our communities care about most and to participating with local stakeholders in community development planning and monitoring.
- Set community development targets and deadlines in targeted communities.
- Maintain adequate and regular communication channels to identify, avoid and/or resolve potential issues that may arise.
- Dedicate time and effort to generate added value initiatives to both the communities and ACP Renewables.
- Transparently report key measures taken to support the communities where we operate.
This Policy applies to ACP Renewables and each of its subsidiaries, including all directors, officers, and employees, and in all geographic locations, regardless of the local practices. In those assets and joint ventures where ACP Renewables does not have operational control, the company will do everything it reasonably can to encourage joint ventures and partners to follow similar principles.
ACP Renewables’ senior management are responsible for ensuring and monitoring the implementation of this Policy.
The Policy is effective from the date of its approval and for an indefinite period and may be updated or revised if considered necessary. All revisions will be subject to approval by the Board of Directors of ACP Renewables.
Non-compliance with this Policy, including concerns, may be reported anonymously or otherwise to the company’s Compliance Committee at [email protected] or through our Whistleblowing Channel available on our website (www.acprenewables.com).
ACP Renewables guarantees confidentiality and no retaliation of any kind against anyone who reports an issue. These principles may be suspended if a person does not act in good faith or if it was otherwise required under the law.
